Job description

MSS Solutions, LLC currently has an opening available for a Project Engineer Design and Development in our Clayton, NC office. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Determines project needs, constraints and responsibilities to meet all the customers facilities requirements.
  • Develop multiple relationships with new and existing customers (owner, facility manager, project manager, project engineer, design engineers, purchasing, etc.) to facilitate design and operational success.
  • Survey and appraise building systems (including HVAC and Building Automation Systems) for value-adding project opportunities.
  • Develop equipment specifications and construction drawings and documents to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options etc.
  • Prepare solutions design, proposals and presentations.
  • Aggressively manage project submittal review and approval to help maintain project scope and schedule.
  • Support engineering evaluation process in project opportunities as identified individually or as an operational team member. This responsibility includes providing company-wide mechanical engineering support as required.
  • Support project engineering design needs and provide Professional Engineering review and stamping as required for all mechanical divisions, if required.
  • Document work by maintaining files for each job.
  • Manage the development and implementation of a project specific system commissioning program to ensure operational quality control and system integrity.
  • Provide on-site engineering support for project team to meet design intent, system requirements, and project milestones.
  • Monitor, track and control outcomes to resolve issues, conflicts, dependencies and critical path deliverables.
  • Assist in preparation of MEP assessments and prepare detailed engineering reports.
  • Coordinate project specific engineering.
  • Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Professional Engineering (PE) License required.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints and construction plans and specifications.
  • Ability to understanding HVAC systems and controls and basic HVAC principles, concepts, and perform calculations.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic.
  • Proficient with all Microsoft Office-related products.
  • Regular and supervisory probation period required, if applicable.
  • Random drug testing is required.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • On path to attain EI certification
  • Knowledge and general understanding of Autodesk Products specifically Revit and AutoCAD
  • Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in-person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs. occasionally, 5-10 lbs frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.
  • Must successfully pass a background check & drug test.

Work Environment: Work is performed in an office environment with air conditioning and bright lights.
