Job description


The Senior Building and Grounds Servicer oversees and participates in the preparation, development, and care of grounds, drives, walks, and parking areas; and participates in planting and maintenance of ornamental bedding areas, trees, lawns, and landscaping projects.
Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Operates and maintains specialized groundskeeping equipment in the performance of various maintenance and landscaping tasks, including operation of tractors, loaders, mowers, blowers, backhoe, tillers, aerifiers, gas trimmers, saws and pruners
  • Cleans and maintains lawns, streets, walks, parking areas etc. including removal of snow, ice, litter, leaves, and other debris
  • Performs specialized tasks associated with grounds maintenance and landscaping such as planting, fertilizing, watering, pruning, cultivating, weeding, cutting, trimming, and shaping
  • Assists in the maintenance of athletic/recreational fields
  • Assists in minor duties in Motorpool to include servicing customers at the gasoline pumps

The ideal candidate will possess the following:
  • Ability to safely operate machinery, tools, and equipment used in the performance of tasks assigned to this position (mowers, weed eaters, trimmers, blowers, pruners, saws etc.)
  • Ability to recognize plant conditions for proper care and reporting

The review of applications will begin June 9, 2026, and continue until the position is filled.
Qualifications
Minimum: Typically requires a high school diploma and six months of relevant experience, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Preferred: One year of experience in the landscape industry, and/or 3 years' experience with large scale landscape company or university setting.
