Role:
The Estimator is responsible for preparation of all levels of estimates and proposals from start to finish relating to various disciplines that are required to support field and pre-fabrication construction projects. This position will prepare and present lump sum bids, proposals, unit costs and quantities for various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to develop accurate project estimates and resolve scope or pricing issues
  • Interface with procurement and operations to align cost estimates with project goals and resources
  • Analyze historical data to improve estimating accuracy and reduce discrepancies between projected and actual costs
  • Identify cost trends and provide recommendations for process and cost improvements
  • Review completed projects to assess estimate accuracy and identify areas for refinement
  • Ensure compliance with estimating standards and methodologies
  • Evaluate project scope, drawings, and specifications for completeness and clarity
  • Review and assess subcontractor and vendor proposals, RFP compliance, and qualifications
  • Prepare and deliver bid packages, including material and labor pricing
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and present estimating strategies
  • Conduct market and labor studies to support pricing decisions
  • Develop summary schedules and evaluate indirect costs, fees, contingencies, and escalation
  • Identify and mitigate project risks through thorough review of plans, specs, and commercial terms
  • Maintain accurate documentation of estimate assumptions and clarifications
  • Support value engineering efforts and pricing analysis
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of direct project estimating experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Quotesoft, Accubid, Oracle, and PowerBI preferred
  • Strong understanding of estimating techniques, construction disciplines, cost control systems, and company procedures
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Capable of working independently or collaboratively, with sound decision-making and creative thinking
