Job description

Position Summary... What you'll do...As a Maintenance Manager, you will lead the maintenance operations within a high-volume distribution and fulfillment environment, ensuring equipment reliability, facility safety, and operational excellence. You will be responsible for driving preventive and corrective maintenance programs, leading a team of skilled technicians and leaders, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory and company standards. This role is critical to maximizing equipment uptime, supporting business objectives, and creating a safe and productive workplace for associates.
What You'll Do Lead Maintenance Operations
  • Direct and oversee daily maintenance activities for warehouse and facility equipment, including:
    • Material Handling Equipment (MHE)
    • Electrical and pneumatic systems
    • Air compressors
    • Ammonia refrigeration systems
    • Building maintenance and repairs
  • Drive equipment reliability and improve operational performance through preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance productivity, quality, and safety.
Drive Business Results
  • Execute operational plans to achieve maintenance, safety, and facility performance goals.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and analyze maintenance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
  • Forecast staffing needs, manage workloads, and ensure resources are aligned with business demands.
Lead and Develop Teams
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and development opportunities for maintenance associates and leaders.
  • Build high-performing teams through effective hiring, training, performance management, and succession planning.

Manage Financial Performance
  • Oversee maintenance budgets, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.

Ensure Safety and Compliance
  • Maintain compliance with Walmart policies and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, including:
    • OSHA

    • DOT
    • Hazardous Waste regulations
    • Storm Water requirements
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate maintenance procedures and documentation.
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring adherence to safety standards and best practices.
Build Strong Partnerships
  • Communicate effectively with associates, leaders, suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional partners.
  • Resolve associate, customer, and supplier concerns through sound judgment and collaboration.
  • Influence stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve business objectives.

The annual salary range for this position is $104,000.00 - $156,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Associate’s degree or equivalent technical certification (e.g., Maintenance, Controls, Electrical) and 1 year of experience in an operations, distribution, logistics, or retail environment with responsibilities including: supervising and developing managers/supervisors, managing workload across multiple departments, participating in hiring and promotions. OR at least 3 years of experience in a maintenance or related technical environment with the same leadership and staffing responsibilities listed above.
