Job description

Position Type: Full-time, Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Job Summary

The Bed Bug Technician is responsible for inspecting, identifying, treating, and preventing bed bug infestations in residential and commercial settings. This position uses specialized treatment equipment, delivers exceptional customer service, and ensures services are performed safely, effectively, and in accordance with company standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect residential and commercial properties to identify bed bug activity and determine appropriate treatment solutions. 
  • Perform bed bug treatments using specialized heat treatment equipment and other approved treatment methods. 
  • Load, unload, transport, and safely operate heaters, fans, cables, and other treatment equipment. 
  • Monitor treatment equipment and environmental conditions throughout the treatment process to ensure effectiveness and safety. 
  • Conduct detailed inspections before, during, and after treatment to assess pest activity and treatment results. 
  • Accurately complete service documentation, inspection reports, and other required records. 
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by professionally addressing customer questions, concerns, and treatment recommendations. 
  • Maintain company equipment, vehicles, and tools in a clean, safe, and operational condition. 
  • Follow all company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations. 
  • Participate in cross-training and perform other pest control-related services as assigned. 
  • Attend training and development opportunities to maintain and expand job knowledge. 
  • Work effectively with team members to ensure quality service and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
  • Ability to lift, load, unload, transport, and set up treatment equipment, including heaters, fans, and cables.
  • Previous experience in pest control is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to move, carry, push, and pull materials and equipment
  • Ability to climb stairs as needed
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crawling, and reaching
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
