The Leonardo DRS Land Electronics business provides C4I Network computing and integrated situational awareness, as well as state-of-the-art embedded diagnostics, vehicle power management and combat vehicle integration products and services.

Job Summary

Join Leonardo DRS Land Electronics in Melourne, FL as a Fall 2026 Business Operations Intern and get hands-on experience supporting real finance work that helps deliver mission-critical technology. You'll work alongside experienced teammates to analyze and report financial data, help with budget tracking and financial controls, and build/maintain spreadsheets and reports used by leadership to make decisions. This role is designed for a student who is proactive, organized, and ready to learn in a fast-paced environment. 

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of administrative financial tasks in one or more areas of finance in support of staff managers and other team members.   May include assisting with performing financial analysis and reporting for use in corporate planning, developing and tracking of budgets and the application of financial controls.
  • Perform financial analyses and generate reports and recommendations for management review.  
  • Build reports and dashboards that are easy to use and structured for both human decision making and AI assisted analysis.
  • Advise management on changes to financial reporting requirements.
  • Study trends and reports on depreciation, working capital, investments, rates of return, and financial and expense comparisons based on profit and loss statements and income statements.
  • Assist staff with various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis.
  • Review, classify, examine and analyze data and records of financial transactions.
  • Maintain and update financial databases and spreadsheets, and generate financial reports as required. 
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation.
  • Identify and resolve routine problems as well as to prevent future problems.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as DAR, FAR, and other government regulations.
  • May interface with government auditors and provide audit support to ensure government understanding of financial data, methodology and applicability under appropriate government regulations.
  • May participate in team efforts to improve functioning of the department.
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.
  • Attend appropriate business meetings and other financial reporting duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or master's program in Finance or Business Administration.
  • At least two years of academic experience with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
  • PowerBi, SQL preferrable.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and in a team.
  • Strong, pro-active, problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to support a 9/80, 20 hours per week, onsite schedule from August 24-December 16, 2026.
