What are bucket jobs?

A 'bucket' job typically refers to a position where the main responsibility is to carry, fill, or empty buckets, often in construction, cleaning, agriculture, or industrial settings. Workers may transport materials, mix substances, or assist with tasks that require manual handling of buckets. These jobs usually require physical stamina, attention to safety, and the ability to follow instructions. While not always a formal job title, 'bucket jobs' are common in labor-intensive industries and can serve as entry-level positions.

The main difference between a Bucket and a Data Analyst is their work focus and environment. Buckets are physical tools used in construction or industrial settings, requiring safety certifications and working outdoors or on-site. Data Analysts, on the other hand, analyze data to help organizations make informed decisions, typically working in office or remote environments with specialized technical skills. Both roles are essential in their industries but serve very different functions.

What are some common challenges faced by employees working as bucket operators in construction?

Bucket operators in construction often encounter challenges such as working in varying weather conditions, maintaining precision while operating heavy machinery, and adhering to strict safety protocols. They are also responsible for routine equipment checks and minor maintenance to prevent downtime. Collaboration with ground workers and site supervisors is essential to ensure project efficiency and safety, requiring strong communication and situational awareness.

Description

Outside Sales Representative

Honey Bucket - A Division of Northwest Cascade

Bay Area, CA

Top Outside Sales Reps earn $86,000-$125,000+

Full-time | Monday-Friday with some weekends| Company Truck Provided

About the Job

Are you competitive, self-motivated, and driven to win? This outside sales role gives you the opportunity to build your own territory, earn based on performance, and make a real impact in the field.

You will develop new business, strengthen customer relationships, and grow revenue while working in an active, hands-on environment. If you enjoy face to face selling, problem solving, and being in control of your success, this is your opportunity to build a career, not just work a job.

What You'll Do

  • Build and grow your territory by prospecting and closing new accounts
  • Develop strong relationships with contractors, site managers, and project leaders
  • Increase revenue within existing accounts through upselling and service excellence
  • Provide hands on support and ensure customer satisfaction
  • Represent the company with professionalism, urgency, and a results driven mindset

What We'll Do

Provide a defined territory with real opportunity for growth

Equip you with the tools, leads, and systems needed to manage and grow your pipeline

Offer hands-on onboarding and field support to help you ramp quickly

Invest in your development through coaching, ride-alongs, and ongoing training

Back you with strong operations and service teams so you can confidently deliver for customers

Reward performance with uncapped commission and clear earning potential

Requirements

  • This role is part sales, part production-the mix can vary week to week depending on business needs.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass a DOT physical
  • Able to lift 75+ lbs, climb in and out of a truck, and work outdoors in all weather
  • Comfortable with physical, dirty work and independent field work
  • Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office, GPS apps)
  • Spanish-speaking is a plus
  • Must be able to speak and understand English well enough to follow traffic laws and communicate with the public

What You'll Get

Compensation

  • Our top Outside Sales Reps earned $86,000-$125,000 in 2025.
  • Most new reps will earn less in their first year while building their territory, pipeline, and customer relationships. The reps who prospect hard, close business, and grow their accounts begin reaching those earnings as their territory matures.
  • At Honey Bucket, the more you sell, the more we love to pay you. Commission is uncapped.

Additional Perks:

  • Company truck and phone provided
  • Full medical, dental, and vision insurance for you paid for by employer (dependent coverage is very affordable as well)
  • 401(k) with company match
  • Paid time off, holiday pay, and uniform/boot allowance
  • On-the-job training and career advancement opportunities

Why Work for Honey Bucket?

We're an employee-owned company with a reputation for hard work and doing the job right. Our Territory Managers are trusted to handle both service and sales-so your success is in your hands. You'll never be bored, and you'll be supported by a team that backs you up.
