What is a BST?

BSTs, or Binary Search Trees, are a type of data structure used in computer science to store and manage data efficiently. Each node in a BST has at most two children, referred to as the left and right child. The left child contains values less than the parent node, while the right child contains values greater than the parent node. This structure allows for fast searching, insertion, and deletion of data, making BSTs useful in various applications such as databases and file systems.

What are some common challenges faced by BSTs when working with individuals with behavioral disorders, and how can they effectively address them?

As a Behavioral Support Technician, one common challenge is managing unpredictable behaviors in clients, which can vary greatly from day to day. Effective communication, consistency in following behavior intervention plans, and collaborating closely with Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and other team members are essential for success. BSTs often need to remain patient and adaptable while documenting progress and setbacks, ensuring safety, and reinforcing positive behaviors. Regular training and team meetings can help address these challenges and provide ongoing support.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), you need a solid understanding of behavioral assessment, intervention planning, and data analysis, typically supported by a master's degree in behavior analysis or a related field and BCBA certification. Familiarity with data collection software, electronic health records, and behavior analytic tools is also important. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication help BCBAs collaborate with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams. These competencies ensure the development and implementation of effective behavioral interventions that improve client outcomes and support ethical practice.

WESH 2 and CW18 are part of Hearst Television and operate from a state-of-the-art facility in Orlando, Florida. Our station supports nine networks, two production control rooms, IP-based audio and video infrastructure, and a wide range of live productions.

In addition to WESH and CW18, our engineering team also supports WMOR-TV in Tampa, providing exposure to multi-station operations and centralized broadcast workflows.

As a flagship station within Hearst, we are frequently among the first to deploy and test new broadcast and IT technologies. • Travel as needed to transmitter sites, remote locations, and live event venues
  • Document systems, workflows, and technical procedures
  • Collaborate closely with engineering and IT team members to support station operations and new technology deployments

Requirements

  • This role participates in a structured, rotating schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, and weekends. The rotation is designed to provide balanced coverage while ensuring exposure to all aspects of station operations.

  • Experience with managed network switches and IP-based systems
  • Supporting servers, workstations, and network infrastructure
  • Familiarity with broadcast equipment and production environments
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking, VPNs, and LAN environments
  • Experience with Windows desktop and server operating systems
  • Cisco, VMware, Microsoft, or similar certifications
  • SBE certification
  • Military or technical training background
  • We also encourage candidates with strong IT, AV, or technical aptitude who are interested in learning broadcast systems to apply.
