Job description

Registered Nurse - Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
Job Summary
Provides critical care nursing to patients recovering from cardiovascular surgery or experiencing acute cardiac decompensation. Manages complex hemodynamic monitoring, ventilator support, and post-surgical recovery in a high-acuity intensive care setting.
Education & Experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (Required)
• Minimum 1-2 years of ICU or cardiovascular nursing experience (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
• Current RN license in state of practice (Required)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Required)
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (Required)
• Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification (Preferred)
Key Responsibilities
• Monitors and manages patients recovering from cardiac surgery, including chest tubes, drains, and pacing wires.
• Performs continuous hemodynamic monitoring and titrates vasoactive and inotropic medications.
• Manages mechanical ventilation and assists with weaning protocols.
• Recognizes and responds promptly to signs of cardiac tamponade, arrhythmia, or hemodynamic instability.
• Collaborates with surgeons, intensivists, and other disciplines on post-operative plan of care.
• Documents assessments, interventions, and patient response in the medical record.
