Position Summary

We are looking for a talented Senior Software Engineer to join our Network Development And
Automation team. Our team is responsible for developing tools and scalable distributed systems
that enable us to make automated changes to our network based on signals from devices and
services all over Imperva's network, apply customer configurations and (when really needed,
manual changes).
The team is looking to completely redesign and rebuild our edge automation platform so this is
an exciting opportunity to contribute to a new platform from the ground up.
You will work to improve the overall programmability of the network for Imperva's internal team
and customers. Automation in the Imperva network is key to the success of our products and is
the cornerstone of our Network Security business.
Our driving ambition is a single pane of glass to program and understand the state of our
network.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborate with your teammates to develop and code new automation tools, using your
  • experience developing scalable solutions and employing open source and "off the shelf"
  • tools where appropriate
  • Help set direction and prioritization for our next-generation network automation and
  • management platforms
  • Work with a globally distributed team of talented developers
  • Work closely with other engineering leadership to plan and prioritize functionality needed
  • for Imperva product growth and evolution
  • Ownership mindset of network deliverables of scale, performance, and availability
  • Participate in on call escalations, root cause analysis, and incident postmortems

Minimum Requirements

  • BSc/M.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent from a known university, or equivalent
  • Experience
  • 5-8 years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree or 4+ years of experience with master's degree.
  • Significant relevant programming experience in Python, Go, Java, C++ or similar
  • Fluent English (Essential)
  • Experience with configuration management systems (SaltStack an advantage)
  • Knowledge of networking theories, concepts and protocols
  • Experience developing distributed systems, secure communications and API's
  • Experience with docker, kubernetes, kafka , microservice architecture (an advantage)
  • Excellent communication and the ability to manage small projects

Special Position Requirements

  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, regular working hours are 8-9 AM to 17-18 PM, the working hours are pretty flexible. Since the team is distributed between EMEA and US most of the meetings will occur during the morning.
  • Travel: Might need to travel up to 5 times a year for team meetings or conferences.
