Job description

JOB SUMMARY:
Textron Aviation is looking for an intern to use and develop their manufacturing and industrial knowledge. Our interns are highly motivated with great communication skills that contribute to aircraft build plans, production tooling, and manufacturing processes for components and assemblies.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Manufacturing Engineer Intern may work projects, including but not limited to: redesigning tooling to improve operators' work environment, automating processes, improving facility layouts for product flow, creating reference documents and standard practices, implementing quality improvements, and exploring new equipment and software. There will be exposure to work in a wide variety of disciplines such as lean manufacturing, electrical, computer science, aircraft environmental systems, structures, and robotics.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in:
  • Manufacturing Engineering
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Manufacturing Engineering Technology (MET)
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Robotics Technology
  • Other related fields

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Summer internships are 40 hours per week typically from late-May to early-August lasting 10 weeks. Candidates must be able to work onsite for the entirety of the internship program unless approved otherwise by the hiring manager.
