Software Engineer II / Software Developer II (React Native)

We are seeking a Software Engineer II specializing in React Native and high-performance mobile development. In this role, you will design, build, and improve mobile experiences while contributing to the architecture, frameworks, and technical practices that support our applications.

You will collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, designers, and researchers to deliver user interfaces that are performant, accessible, reliable, and delightful at scale. You will take ownership of meaningful features from development through release and production support.

Responsibilities 

  • Design, build, test, release, and maintain mobile application features using React Native and modern JavaScript and TypeScript.
  • Contribute to the evolution of frontend architecture, reusable components, development patterns, and technical standards.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and researchers to translate user experience requirements into practical, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Write maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to code reviews, documentation, testing practices, and release processes.
  • Investigate, diagnose, and resolve application defects, performance issues, and production incidents.
  • Collaborate with the backend team to deliver reliable end-to-end experiences.
     

 Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional software development experience, including experience building React Native applications or high-performance JavaScript and TypeScript applications.
  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong understanding of React Native, JavaScript, TypeScript, component architecture, state management, and mobile application development.
  • Experience profiling, debugging, and optimizing frontend or mobile application performance.
  • Understanding of cross-platform application architecture and communication between JavaScript and native modules.
  • Experience delivering production-quality mobile applications using React Native.
  • Experience building reusable UI components and maintainable frontend systems.
  • Ability to independently deliver well-defined projects while collaborating effectively with engineers and cross-functional partners.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and debugging skills.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality user interfaces with excellent performance and usability.
Bonus
  • Experience building social, community, gaming, or other consumer products.
  • Familiarity with VoIP, call dialing and ringing flows in Android/React Native
  • Experience with accessibility, internationalization, and UI testing frameworks. 
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern build systems for frontend development.
