Job Overview:

Represents a technical expert with depth of knowledge within specialized area. Perform Paintless Dent repairs

by using PDR techniques and various tools on small to midsize dent damages on exterior of vehicles to company

standards

Responsibilities:

File, grind, sand and smooth filled or repaired surfaces, using power tools and hand tools

Pound out small dents with a hammer, pick hammer, or punch

Identifies the most appropriate option / solution to adjust or improve existing approaches.

Plan work to be performed

Position dolly blocks against surfaces of dented areas and beat opposite surfaces to remove dents, using hammers, metal

dolly's, air dent pullers, slide hammer dent pullers, picks, etc.

Completes and ensures availability of appropriate documentation related to the production process.

Perform quality and visual inspection

May modify existing processes, methods, and approaches

Completes and ensures availability of appropriate documentation related to the production process.

Identifies the most appropriate option / solution to adjust or improve existing approaches.

May be required to interpret or clarify technical information to aid understanding

Provides guidance, coaching, and direction to more junior team members on the job

Participate in the Continuous Improvement Program

Works under broad supervision

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required

Required: 4 years relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate 3 years relevant experience; OR Relevant

associates degree 1 year relevant experience

Preferred: 5 years relevant experience; OR Relevant certificate 4 years relevant experience; OR Relevant assoc.

Able to perform the essential functions of the job

Knowledge & Skills:

Strong problem solving skills

Knowledge of metal finishing techniques: Examines and feels surface of metal to detect defects, such as dents,

scratches, or breaks in metal

Experience with sheet metal and automotive body repair and rework

Experience in a manufacturing setting

Spot welding experience is a plus

I-CAR training is a plus

The Sprinter plant officially opened in 2018 and serves as a key part of the Mercedes-Benz Vans global production network. MBV Charleston was selected as the first plant in this network to produce the all-new eSprinter, beginning in 2024.
