The Opportunity
The Business Relationship Leader (BRL) is a senior-level, strategic business partner responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with our clients and stakeholders, ensuring that their needs are met, and their expectations are exceeded. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of the IT industry, and a proven track record of developing and implementing successful business strategies. The BRL will focus on delivering business value, owning business critical relationships, and serving as a single point of focus for the interaction between Digital & Information Technology (D&IT) and business partners. The BRL is integral to ensuring decisions regarding D&IT products and services align with strategic business goals and objectives while fostering positive customer experience.
The IT BRL will contribute to the business leadership team by actively partnering with market segment and solution business peers to determine strategic direction. The IT BRL will work to identify ways to support and advance business objectives including persistent or significant D&IT operational issues that require resolution.
Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for secure, resilient, and scalable digital capabilities while ensuring a positive customer experience for the market segment and solution teams.
  • Ensure that client needs are being met and their expectations are exceeded.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within D&IT and business segment teams to develop and implement business strategies, strategic roadmaps, business cases, and value plans.
  • Serve as the strategic interface between D&IT and business partners to stimulate, surface, and shape business demand, ensuring that the potential business value from those assets and capabilities is captured, realized, optimized, and recognized.
  • Manage requests through the D&IT demand process.
  • Coach business leaders to articulate their function's needs and requirements that will advocate business performance, leverage digital capabilities, and foster positive experiences for BV professionals and customers.
  • Partner with Application Portfolio Managers, Service Delivery Manages, and Project Managers for execution and delivery.
  • Work with Business Analysts and the Architecture team to develop and maintain multi-year business capability roadmaps that support the digital product operating mode.
  • Collaborate with organizational change management to ensure effective transformation and adoption for all initiatives.

  • Master's in Business Administration or Information Technology.
  • Experience in developing and managing a technology ecosystem.
  • Experience leading complex relationships with business stakeholders across multiple organizations.
  • 10+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives.
  • Ability to set expectations with business partners and effectively leverage governance for a positive business partner experience.
  • Demonstrable experience with managing stakeholders across a P&L or marketable business line.
  • Experience developing strategic information technology roadmaps.
  • Demonstrable acumen in construction, engineering, or applicable industries.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to translate business requirements into technology solutions.
  • Strong project management skills.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree (in any discipline) or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role as a strategic partner, as well as with leadership and functional teams.
  • 5+ years of experience facilitating the development and implementation of business initiatives and projects, based on management objectives.
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Certifications
  • Certified Business Relationship Manager (CBRM) preferred
