We're seeking an Experienced Bridge Engineer to join our team and take the lead on innovative bridge and structural projects throughout Michigan - with opportunities to expand across state lines.
This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility to work remotely and report to one of our Michigan or Ohio offices as needed.
What You'll Do
As a key member of MSG's Transportation and Structural Engineering team, you'll contribute to the planning, design, and delivery of bridge and retaining wall projects that connect and strengthen our communities.
You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Lead and perform bridge and structural design - including layout, analysis, and plan development - in accordance with MDOT and AASHTO standards.
  • Contribute to the full project lifecycle, from concept through construction, across a variety of bridge types and complexities.
  • Prepare bridge layouts, material quantity calculations, and construction specifications for new and rehabilitated structures.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews to ensure technical accuracy and quality deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with roadway, geotechnical, and other engineering teams to deliver coordinated project solutions.
  • Manage and coordinate projects, communicating effectively with clients, partners, and team members.
  • Mentor and support other engineers while continuing to grow your leadership and technical expertise.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • 8+ years of experience in bridge design and structural engineering
  • Michigan Professional Engineer (PE) license required
  • Experience with MDOT and/or MDOT LAP projects
  • Proficiency with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design standards
  • Software experience: MicroStation and OpenRoads required; Civil 3D a plus
  • Experience with AASHTOWare BrR, Merlin Dash, MathCAD, or equivalent load rating and design software preferred
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills - with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
