HDR is looking for a Movable Bridge Section Manager to join our Transportation Business Group's Movable Bridge Program in Tampa. The Movable Bridge Section Manager will be responsible for operations of the Tampa-based Movable Bridge group including project execution, staff development and morale, profitability, quality control and marketing support.
In addition, the Movable Bridge Section Manager will:
  • Be administratively responsible for the section staff and technical service functions and will lead and coordinate services with other sections
  • Function as a project manager and/or production engineer on projects in addition to staff management responsibilities
  • Be involved in marketing planning, proposals and interviews. Be directly involved with clients in marketing, project production and related issues
  • See that all work is planned, organized, controlled and evaluated through proactive project management system
  • Implement, monitor and support company policy
  • Select, train, develop and manage multi-disciplined, technical personnel
  • Work cooperatively with the National and Regional Movable Bridge Programs marketing, production, and technical effort

Preferred Experience
  • Engineering degree in a related field such as Structural, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • FL PE is required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the movable bridge industry including experience in all major movable bridge types (bascule, lift and swing bridges), for both railway and roadway bridges
  • Experience with at least 5 movable bridge design projects
  • Minimum of 10 years of staff management and training experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of solid FDOT project experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills

  • A minimum of 10 years experience
  • Professional registration, license or certification may be required based on role
  • Strong communication and listening skills
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Good leadership and organizational skills
