Our professionals provide bridge engineering design and condition inspection services; a complete range of highway-related services ranges from full-design and layout, resurfacing to full reconstruction; and comprehensive professional traffic engineering services.

We focus on developing regionally significant projects for state departments of transportation, turnpike authorities, multistate transportation agencies and authorities, bridge commissions, and county government clients throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and North Carolina. Our professionals advance some of the region’s most challenging projects by providing full-service solutions including innovative concept development, highway engineering, bridge and structural engineering, NBIS bridge inspections, traffic engineering, site-civil engineering, geotechnical, stormwater and environmental permitting.

Primary Function:

This individual will lead project management, client relations, and provide the design and engineering services throughout all phases of bridge projects, working under the supervision of the Department Manager. The Project Manager will be responsible for delivering high-quality bridge design solutions for state, county, and federal projects.

The ideal candidate will have approximately 5 to 10 years of experience in the field of bridge engineering.

Primary Duties:

  • Plan, develop, and manage bridge engineering projects for clients, including DOT, county, and other transportation agencies.
  • Support bridge design efforts, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with regulations and standards, such as AASHTO, NJDOT, and PennDOT design manuals.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to prepare technical reports, detailed construction drawings, and specifications for bridge projects.
  • Maintain strong technical knowledge of bridge design techniques, procedures, materials, and relevant engineering software.
  • Perform independent, engineering calculations for bridge structures and create accurate construction plans and estimates.
  • Ensure all design work adheres to client and corporate quality control procedures throughout the project life cycle.
  • Review and provide feedback on the work of engineers, CAD drafters, and other technical staff to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Interact with clients and oversee the work of subconsultants, ensuring the project meets the agreed-upon goals and specifications.
  • Support the Department Manager in job planning, scheduling, and coordination of multiple technical disciplines for complex bridge projects.
  • Monitor and manage project schedules and budgets, ensuring timely delivery and cost control.
  • Review and approve project invoices before submission to clients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgets.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or better in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field required.
  • PE license required or the ability to pursue a PE licensure.
  • Experience in bridge design, including AASHTO, NJDOT, NJTA or PennDOT.
  • Ability to clarify and concisely express thoughts verbally and in written correspondence/reports/specifications.
  • Provides effort and takes pride in all work assignments produced.
  • Not afraid to ask for guidance/assistance in order to expedite the date of assignment deliverables.
  • Ability to simultaneously work on group and individual assignments.
  • Must have effective communication, management and writing skills.
  • Must be skilled in the use of Word/Excel products.
  • AutoCAD capability a plus.

Salary Range: $92,000.00 To $151,800.00 Annually
