Description
The brick machine operator area of responsibility is from the reclaimer to the slug cutter. They are to work closely with the sand/slurry preparation and setting machine operators to keep the production line running. The operator is co responsible for the quality of the brick going on the kiln car with the setting machine operator and must communicate regularly as to size, coatings and texture.
Requirements
Job Requirements
  • Accurately trimming brick to size and changing trimming wires, when necessary.
  • Maintain proper size and color as required by recipe.
  • Monitor all areas for feed of proper material.
  • Change-over line accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • PM and assure proper operation of equipment.
  • Assist maintenance, as needed, during breakdowns.
  • Proficient in reading tape measure and scales (standard/metric).
  • Operate machinery properly and safely.
  • Must be able to multi-task
  • Must participate in dept housekeeping and meet standards.
  • Must be a team player - help out co-workers.

Educational, Experience, & Skill Requirements
  • Hardhat, safety glasses, and steel toe shoes etc. required.
  • Ability and willingness to help throughout the Plant where needed.

Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally.
  • Must be able to twist, stoop, and bend regularly.
  • Must be able to pick up brick from floor level frequently
