Job description

RP Sol is seeking a fellowship-trained breast radiologist for an independent contractor opportunity in Tucson, Arizona. This dedicated 100% breast imaging role offers a flexible schedule, including full-time or part-time options, with no call, weekends, or holidays. The position covers a full spectrum of breast radiology services within Northwest Healthcare, one of southern Arizona's largest integrated health systems.

Practice Info

  • Dedicated 100% breast imaging role
  • Physician-led group providing radiology services across Northwest Healthcare
  • Supports a network of four acute-care hospitals, multiple freestanding emergency departments, 17 urgent care centers, and a multispecialty physician group of roughly 100 providers
  • Breast imaging is centered at the Northwest Medical Center and Northwest Medical Center Houghton women's imaging centers
  • Women's imaging centers are equipped with 3D mammography and a full breast imaging suite

Responsibilities

  • Perform screening and diagnostic mammography (2D and 3D tomosynthesis)
  • Perform breast ultrasound and ultrasound-guided breast biopsies
  • Perform stereotactic breast biopsies
  • Perform breast wire (needle) localizations
  • Interpret breast MRI

Compensation

  • Compensation for this independent contractor (1099) role is paid on a per-shift basis at a rate of up to $4,250 per shift
  • At a full four-shift-per-week schedule, shift pay alone comes to roughly $884,000 per year (208 shifts annually), with the exact figure depending on the number of holidays in a given year
  • Contractors are eligible for a productivity bonus
  • Travel, lodging, and related expenses are covered for contractors traveling from out of state
  • Final terms may vary based on experience, certifications, subspecialty skill set, productivity, and the number of shifts worked

Shift & Schedule

  • Day/1st Shift
  • IC - Full-time (30+hrs/week)/FULLTIME
  • Shifts scheduled Monday through Thursday
  • No call, no weekends, and no holidays
  • Available on a full-time or part-time basis

Requirements

  • Fellowship training in breast imaging preferred
  • Fellows and residents are welcome to apply
  • BE or BC by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) or the American Osteopathic Board of Radiology (AOBR)
  • MQSA-qualified interpreting physician status preferred
  • Active Arizona medical license, or eligibility to obtain one
