Job description

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise kitchen staff under the supervision of the Food Service Director. The supervisor is responsible for the shift coordination of food service including menu development, food preparation, serving and distribution of food and cleans up. Provide instruction to participants in training to prepare them to acquire Food Protection Certificate. Related duties as assigned.

HOURS:

Full-time 37.5 hours per week

  • Thursday-Monday 11am-7:30pm

QUALIFICATIONS:

BA preferred. High School diploma or GED required. Culinary Arts degree a plus. Qualifying certificate in Food Protection from the NYC Dept of Health required. Good health; ability to read, write, and speak English. TB Clearance required.

PROGRAM DESCRIPITION:

BRC's Food Service Program provides nutritious meals to several of the agency's other housing and day treatment programs. The program also caters special events such as BRC graduations and reunions. The Food Service Program provides training and supervision for interns in the BRC Horizons Workforce Development program through a six-week Food Service Training program that assists trainees to obtain their NYC Food Handlers Certificate. Participants in this program are eligible for a Safe Serve certificate with additional training.
