This is an exciting opportunity for a talented media professional to join Capital One's Brand Media Department as an Associate, serving as an internal subject matter expert responsible for paid media strategy, planning and activation of media investment for Brand and assigned Lines of Businesses (LOB's). The ideal candidate will have studied marketing or advertising with a passion for paid media. You will be responsible for ensuring that media plans align with the overall marketing strategy and deliver on Brand objectives. Role also includes management of external Agency partners. This position is responsible for paid media programs, not earned media or public relations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Brand Strategy, Advertising, Sponsorships, Social and Marketing & Analysis teams to develop integrated marketing campaigns

  • Support Brand, product and Sponsorship campaigns across mass media channels including video, print, audio, digital, social and OOH platforms

  • Support in developing paid media plans that drive innovation and impact by incorporating new channels and using traditional channels in unique ways

  • Support in evaluating research, develop points of view and craft paid media strategies and tactics to address business objectives

  • Support Brand and LOB (line of business) media plan execution and maintenance; manage media authorizations, flowcharts, and plan actualizations

  • Manage paid media campaign budgets, including reconciliation and reporting

  • Develop solid understanding of financial services competitive category; stay current with media trends and identify opportunity areas

  • Build strong agency partner and media vendor relationships

  • Track, benchmark and report on key performance metrics

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Military Experience

  • At least 1 year of experience in paid media, advertising or marketing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in managing paid media campaign budgets

  • General understanding of media principles, planning and buying functions

  • Experience with media tools including but not limited to MRI, Simmons, Scarborough, Nielsen, and comScore

  • Experience in Credit Card, Bank or other Financial Services industries

  • Strong communication and project prioritization skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Sales Territory: $74,200 - $84,700 for Associate, Brand


McLean, VA: $81,700 - $93,300 for Associate, Brand


Richmond, VA: $74,200 - $84,700 for Associate, Brand


New York, NY: $89,200 - $101,700 for Associate, Brand








Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
