Job description

Press Brake Operator

Pay: $22/hr or more based on experience

Shift: Day shift - Monday through Thursday 10 hour shifts (Friday's overtime when needed )

Description:

  • The Press Brake Operator is responsible for setting up and operating the press brake to bend, form, and fabricate metal parts according to blueprints and specifications. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of experience operating a press brake (CNC preferred).
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes and materials.
  • Basic math and measurement skills.
  • Mechanically inclined with good hand-eye coordination.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Amada, Cincinnati, and/or Accurpress brake machines.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and setup.
  • Forklift operation certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Manual dexterity and attention to fine detail required for handling metal parts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form parts to specifications.
  • Interpret blueprints, work orders, and shop drawings to determine part dimensions and tolerances.
  • Select and install proper tooling and dies for each job.
  • Measure, inspect, and verify finished parts using calipers, protractors, and other measuring tools.
  • Adjust machine controls to maintain part accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report mechanical issues promptly.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Work collaboratively with engineering and fabrication teams to ensure product quality and schedule adherence.
