Job description

Shear & Brake Operator
Location: Orlando, FL 32806
Pay: $19.00 - No Shear and Brake experience 
$20.00 - $21.00 per hour with Shear and Brake experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

We are currently hiring an experienced Shear & Brake Operator for a temp-to-hire opportunity in Orlando! This is a great opportunity for someone with strong metal fabrication experience who is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with measurements and production equipment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Operate shear and press brake machinery to cut, bend, and form sheet metal according to specifications.
  • Read and follow work orders, blueprints, drawings, and production instructions.
  • Accurately measure materials and finished products using a tape measure and other measuring tools.
  • Set up and operate equipment while making adjustments as needed to maintain quality and accuracy.
  • Inspect finished parts for proper dimensions, angles, and overall quality.
  • Safely load, position, and remove materials from machinery.
  • Perform routine equipment checks and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and production standards.
  • Work efficiently while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating a shear and press brake is a plus. 
  • Must be proficient at reading a tape measure.
  • Ability to accurately read measurements and work with fractions.
  • Ability to read and follow blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment.
  • Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
