Job Title: Brake Press OperatorJob Description

As a Brake Press Operator, you will review and follow blueprints, work orders, tooling instructions, or other written specifications to understand the machining characteristics of various metals. You will determine processing specifications such as materials, forms, sizes, surface conditions, material defects dimensions, tolerances, and operational sequences, ensuring the correct material for the job is used according to work orders.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and execute material handling.
  • Position work pieces for processing, potentially operating a combination of different machines.
  • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and material onto the machine.
  • Select and monitor speeds, feeds, controls, and tooling.
  • Determine operations sequence for various material and operating conditions.
  • Create complicated or irregularly shaped parts or sections per established drawings, requiring careful blocking and clamping to avoid springing or distortion.
  • Operate a variety of machines during processing as required based on workload or business needs.
  • Measure and examine pieces using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, scales, and squares to ensure conformance to work order specifications.
  • Perform 'In Process' and 'Finished Product' quality control inspections.
