Unlike traditional staffing agencies, Braintrust operates as a user-owned platform where both freelancers and clients have a stake in its governance. People who work through Braintrust take on short-term or long-term projects, set their own rates, and often receive payment in cryptocurrency. The platform emphasizes transparency, lower fees, and community-driven decision-making. This approach aims to empower professionals and ensure fair compensation for their work.

How does working as a talent on the Braintrust platform differ from traditional employment in terms of team collaboration and project management?

As a professional on the Braintrust platform, you typically work as an independent contractor, collaborating remotely with client teams on a project-by-project basis. Unlike traditional employment, you may join different teams for each project and often use digital tools for communication, task tracking, and feedback. This setup encourages autonomy and flexibility but also requires strong self-management and proactive communication skills to ensure alignment with client expectations. Braintrust’s platform facilitates transparent collaboration and provides resources for connecting with other freelancers, but you are responsible for managing your workflow and deadlines.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Braintrust talent, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Braintrust Talent, you need deep expertise in your professional field (such as software engineering, design, or product management) and a strong portfolio showcasing relevant accomplishments. Familiarity with remote collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, and project management platforms, along with proven remote work experience, is highly valued. Excellent communication, self-motivation, and the ability to manage time independently set top performers apart. These skills are crucial for delivering quality work, building trust with clients, and succeeding in Braintrust's decentralized, client-focused marketplace.

Job description

About the company
Braintrust is the agent observability platform. By actively applying intelligence to agent traces and automatically surfacing the most critical patterns, Braintrust gives teams the visibility to understand how agents behave in production and the tools to improve them.
Teams at Notion, Stripe, Box, OpenAI, and Cloudflare use Braintrust to trace their agents, find the issues in their observability data, and run evals that tell them how to improve.
About the role
Braintrust is looking for an Enterprise Account Executive who will be responsible for prospecting and closing new business across the West Region of the US.
Braintrust already has a strong base of early customers including Stripe, Notion, Instacart, and Airtable, which you'll be able to build on to help us expand. Our primary users are software engineers, so you'll need to be comfortable working with a technical audience.
This role is based in San Francisco, CA.
What you'll do
  • As part of the foundational sales team, you'll help develop our GTM strategy and close key customer accounts.
  • Build and own the entire sales process including engaging with potential customers, negotiating and closing contracts, customer retention, and renewals.
  • Navigate complex sales and win trust through consultative sales conversations with technical teams.
Ideal candidate credentials
  • You have 5+ years of full cycle sales experience, selling to technical audiences.
  • You have the drive and willingness to go deep on our product to carry a technical conversation with AI teams.
  • You are ready to roll up your sleeves and drive impact to exceed revenue targets.
  • You have a strong worth ethic, competitive drive, and you naturally inspire and motivate those around you.
  • You have thrived in environments where things are sometimes loosely defined and may have competing priorities or deadlines.
Benefits include
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • Daily lunch, snacks, and beverages
  • Flexible time off
  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Wifi & cellphone stipend
Equal opportunity
Braintrust is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, veteran or disability status.
