• Conduct comprehensive assessments of senior clients’ mental health to identify their specific needs, including challenges related to grief, life transitions, and aging complications.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that address emotional issues related to aging, adjusting therapeutic approaches based on client feedback and progress.
• Develop and implement detailed care plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic support for our geriatric clients.
• Educate clients, families, and caregivers on effective strategies to enhance the emotional well-being of seniors, promoting independence and quality of life.
• Provide specialized grief counseling and support to residents and their families grappling with end-of-life issues through structured discussions and resources.
• Implement cognitive stimulation initiatives and mental health therapies aimed at improving mental clarity and promoting cognitive health in older adults.

• A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution is required.
• Must possess a current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certificate in Florida.
• A minimum of four years of recent counseling experience, specifically focused on mental health support for seniors.
• Evidence of further education or training related to geriatric mental health and the complexities surrounding aging.
• Demonstrated proficiency in counseling older adults experiencing diverse mental health challenges.
• Strong understanding of ethical and legal responsibilities pertaining to senior mental health counseling.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that foster rapport with senior clients and their families.
