Position SummaryThe Shipping Specialist is responsible for preparing, processing, and managing outgoing shipments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods. This role involves coordinating with internal teams and external carriers, maintaining shipping records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and shipping regulations. Duties and ResponsibilitiesShipping Clerks must be proficient in the safe operation of the following pieces of material handling equipment.Sit down propane fork-lifts, Stand up high reach electric fork-lifts, Overhead cranes and other material handling equipment.The above equipment will be used to move, pick and place materials throughout the plant. The high reach forklift operator will routinely place pallet loads of metal fasteners weighing in excess of 2,500 lbs. in rack locations more than 21 feet high. Perform daily, weekly and monthly inspections of all utilized material handling equipment and request additional maintenance when required.While moving inventory for any purpose employee must maintain accurate counts and locations of inventory.Proper use of a counting scale is necessary for a significant portion of shipping and receiving transactions.Employee should be checking part numbers and descriptions to ensure correct part is pulled and shipped to Customer.Safely load and unload trucks while maintaining an account of the merchandise received or shipped.Maintain ISO procedures while preparing parts for shipment to Customers /Vendors including tagging, banding, boxing, assembly, and cleaning. Maintaining ISO procedures while preparing parts for shipment to stock, by tagging, banding, boxing, assembly, and cleaning.Complete shop forms, data collection, job tracking card, work orders, bill of lading and packing slips for accurate inventory and costing information.
