1st - 6:00AM - 2:30PM
2nd - 2:00PM - 10:30PM
3rd - 10:00PM - 6:30AM
PAY: $18.15/hr + $2 Shift Differential for 3rd shift ONLY
**To meet operational needs, mandatory biweekly Saturday overtime will be part of our standard schedule.**

Position Overview:
These are hands-on positions and will require that the individual be responsible for packaging tortillas into the cases or trays. These repetitive positions are rotated regularly. The individual will be accountable for achieving operational goals, while maintaining quality and safety standards.
This individual will be responsible for contributing to a consistent, safe, and productive work environment through participation in corporate programs, and adhering to operational and personnel policies and procedures. With a focus on the success of the overall operation, the individual will work closely with the production, quality and maintenance teams to maintain optimal quality, safety and efficiencies
Key Responsibilities amp; Essential Functions:
Bagger
  • Verify that the proper packaging is available and being used
  • Confirm the quantity of tortillas in the stack and notify the lead if the count is not accurate.
  • Quickly and neatly place tortillas in the package as they exit from the counter stacker.
  • Place the filled package in the proper location for sealing.
  • Re -verify that the proper packaging is available and being used.
  • Confirm that the proper cartons are being used.
  • Inspect the seals and set aside any packages that do not meet quality standards.
  • Verify that the code date is legible and accurate
  • Quickly and neatly place the proper number of packages in the case, utilizing inserts if necessary.
  • Verify that the cartons are being sealed properly.
Boxer
  • Prepares boxes for packaging of product
  • Ensures box printers are operating properly
  • Seals and tapes product boxes
Palletizer
  • Verify that the proper packaging is available and being used.
  • Make sure that only good pallets are being used.
  • Place the finished product on a pallet in the designated configuration and orientation.
  • Place the cartons in a manner that allows the expiration coding to be read on all sides.
  • Confirm the quantity of cartons on the pallet and affix the proper bar code label.
  • Wrap the pallet with a layer of stretch wrap and move the pallet to the warehouse for loading.
  • Ensure that the packing area has adequate supplies.
  • Empty food waste containers in the compactor and remove cardboard form the pack area.
  • Re -verify that the proper packaging is available and being used.
  • Verify that the code date on the carton is legible and accurate
  • Verify that the cartons are being sealed properly
General Responsibilities:
  • Keep work area clean and orderly
  • Maintain compliance with established policies and procedures
  • Ensure operation of equipment by calling for repairs and communicating with maintenance
  • Actively participate in Food Safety and Food defense related activities
  • Perform additional duties as directed
Education amp; Experience:
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Food manufacturing packaging experience preferred but not required
Specific Competencies:
  • Ability to lift less than 2 lbs. on a continuous basis (bagger/packer/boxer)
  • Ability to push up to 50 lbs on a regular basis (boxer)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a continuous basis (palletizer)
  • Good mobility and the ability to bend and stretch continuously
