Job description

Position Overview
The Quality Manager has management responsibility in the areas of quality management, quality improvement, initiatives, customer support and customer satisfaction. Additional responsibilities include management of all quality certifications to include FSC and AIB.
Responsibilities
• Oversee corporate customer quality portals and work with corporate customer quality representatives.
• Participate in service calls for box plant key customers.
• Work in conjunction with GBP Corporate Continuous Improvement (CI) team to establish quality focused CI techniques and strategies as part of GBP culture.
• Conduct box plant quality audits to improve their quality systems and share best practices.
• Provide reports on the analysis of nonconforming products and processes, as well as quality trends for Green Bay Packaging box plants.
• Assist the divisions in identifying root causes of quality issues or areas for improvement and recommend solutions.
• Identify and provide training opportunities to divisions on quality, combined board testing, and product compliance initiatives to improve organizational capabilities and knowledge.
• Establish quality and specifications standards by studying product and consumer requirements.
• Perform internal audits for BRCGS certified sites.
• Provide backup support for Product Safety & Quality Compliance Manager.
• Lead box plant quality applications (IT programs) improvement for box plants from the business perspective.
• Organize and host the annual corporate quality & technical conference
Qualifications
• Five years of box plant experience in either a technical or operations role.
• Bachelor of Science in a technical field is preferred.
• Knowledge of quality system requirements as well as a working knowledge of product safety requirements.
• Good communications and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with statistical analysis, ISTA, HAZMAT, testing.
• Knowledge and experience of lab testing principles and equipment.
• Competency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. Power BI or Minitab experience is a plus.
• Able to work in manufacturing environment and traverse stairs and ladders.
