Job description

The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts is seeking a part time person for employment. The Box Office Associate provides exemplary customer service to our Hobby Center patrons by selling tickets and assisting with any necessary information.

Preferred candidates will have experience in customer service. Knowledge of Ticketmaster and/or Tessitura as well as experience in performing arts box office are a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls regarding Hobby Center events
  • Answer incoming e-mail inquiries
  • Sell single tickets and subscriptions at the box office
  • Exchange tickets for season subscribers
  • Reconcile cash drawer at the end of each shift
  • May perform other duties as assigned

  • Calculate mathematical computations and handle financial transaction accurately in a fast-paced environment

Education and /or Experience

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Box office or guest services background preferred
  • Cash handling experience preferred
