Description
The Driver (Non CDL) is responsible for the delivery of insulation products to scheduled job sites based on a provided schedule. This will include ensuring on-time delivery and professional interaction with customers at delivery sites. This associate will assist with all warehouse functions as well as the loading and unloading of trucks.

  • Delivery Experience
    • Operating a 26' Box Truck (at minimum)
    • Route management with sound decision making
    • Takes ownership of the job responsibilities
    • Professional representative of Bay, of whom maintains a clean and professional appearance with appropriate clothing.
    • Maintains the cleanliness of the assigned delivery truck
    • Ensures assigned delivery truck fuel levels are optimally maintained and reports any mechanical issues immediately to direct manager.
    • Possesses a current and valid Driver License, TWIC Card, and DOT FedMed Card.
  • Ability to follow work instructions or standard operating procedures, such as:
    • Confirming/Verifying contents of box truck load prior to leaving Bay dock and performing deliveries
    • Securing freight inside box of truck before operating unit
    • Confirming/Verifying contents of box truck load prior to leaving vendors/suppliers properties with picked up purchase orders
    • Retaining Bay copies of paperwork for pickups/deliveries and providing to warehouse lead upon return
  • Effective Communication
    • Provide delivery/pickup status updates to warehouse lead or direct manager, as needed.
    • Following delivery instructions provided by customers, of which is notated on delivery paperwork
    • Notifying BAY of any delays being experienced at pickups/deliveries.
  • Team Oriented
    • Cross-training and backfilling warehouse role, when the driver is not on the road.
    • Collaborate and effectively communicate with his teammates and leadership.
Schedule: Monday - Friday - 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM (30-min lunch), open to Overtime as needed.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
  • Performs daily pre-trip inspections, including pre-inspection forms and completes minor maintenance if needed.
  • Reports any mechanical or maintenance related issues to the Division Manager in a timely manner.
  • Performs shipping and receiving duties, including data entry of orders, verifying quantity and quality of incoming and outgoing materials, and documentation.
  • Completes daily logs in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Processes paperwork such as tickets and bills of lading.
  • Ensures the customer's signature on the receipt of material and collects on COD charges when specified.
  • Ensures correct inventory by verifying material counts for accuracy.
  • Pulls, stages, and loads outgoing material orders.
  • Reports any issues to the Division Manager that were discovered at the job site.
Qualifications:
  • One year of verifiable experience driving a straight truck (26' box truck, automatic transmission, or similar vehicle), required.
  • Ability to receive and maintain a med card, required.
  • Ability to lift materials up to 50 lbs. and climb in/out back of the vehicle.
  • As a condition of continued employment, employees working in a position requiring driving as an essential function of the job, are required to maintain a valid license, and an acceptable driving record as per our insurance provider's requirements.
