Job description

Overview
Bowden Manufacturing is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the full manufacturing lifecycle; from quoting and process development through production launch. This role works closely with sales, engineering, and production teams to ensure parts are quoted accurately, designed for manufacturability, and successfully brought into production.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, fixturing, and process development, with the ability to help dial in machines for stable, repeatable production. This position supports our commitment to precision aerospace manufacturing and compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, and ITAR requirements.

What Youโ€™ll Do

  • Support RFQ and quoting activities by reviewing customer drawings, evaluating manufacturability, estimating cycle times, and determining tooling and fixturing requirements.
  • Collaborate with sales and leadership to evaluate new opportunities and ensure accurate, competitive quotations.
  • Develop and document manufacturing processes, routers, and work instructions for new and existing parts.
  • Design or support development of tooling and fixturing solutions that enable efficient and repeatable machining processes.
  • Work with machinists and production leadership to prove out processes.
  • Provide technical guidance during new job launches and production transitions.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cycle time, quality, and repeatability within machining processes.
  • Collaborate with Quality to ensure processes meet customer, AS9100, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support first article inspections (FAI) and new product introduction activities.
  • Serve as a technical resource for production teams, helping troubleshoot manufacturing challenges and improve overall process performance.
  • Analyze production performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives across machining operations.

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or CNC machining environments
  • Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, tooling, fixturing, GD&T, and blueprint interpretation
  • Experience with manufacturing process development and production launch
  • Ability to translate engineering requirements into practical machining strategies
  • Experience supporting quoting, cycle time estimation, and manufacturability reviews
  • Familiarity with AS9100 or aerospace manufacturing standards preferred

Why Join Bowden

At Bowden Manufacturing, youโ€™ll join a team focused on precision, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement. We produce high-quality components for aerospace and defense customers while maintaining a hands-on, collaborative culture.
