Beta Analytic has an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician on our Pretreatment team. This is a full-time hourly position - 40 hours per week. There is the potential for additional compensation - Overtime when there is the workload demand (paid at 1 ½ the equivalent hourly rate). The position also includes medical insurance and other employment benefits.

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Company is currently seeking qualified, hard-working, team-oriented applicants for this laboratory position. Note - We are a production laboratory not a research facility.
  • After appropriate training independently prepare samples for analysis according to SGS' analytical SOPs
  • Using basic instrumentation specific to the department and analytical methodologies
  • Performs routine operation, maintenance, calibration of equipment
  • May assist with validation and MDL studies.
  • Inputs and maintains technical information as needed to support the laboratory functions/operations.
  • Maintains Laboratory Notebook where applicable.
  • Adheres to internal standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in science field is required (Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Botany etc.).
  • A minimum of one year of hands-on laboratory work including college/university experience is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail is required.
  • Have excellent oral/written communication skills along with computer software skills with the ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable interfacing with all staff members at all levels of the company.
  • Be an overall team player.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize work to maximize efficiency and meet established deadlines.
  • Ability to show accountability.
  • Experience with chemicals, solvents, scales, microscope work, familiarity with plant anatomy, marine organisms etc.

ADDITIONAL KEY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • The position has physical requirements such as being able to stand on your feet for long periods of the day, climbing up and down stairs and regularly lifting as much as 40 pounds.

  • Must be comfortable working any day of the week including weekends.
