POSITION

The Arboretum & Botanical Garden at CSUF invites applications for its E3 Internship Graduate Assistant Pool.

The Arboretum & Botanical Garden at Cal State Fullerton offers students internships in the Engaging Environmental Experiences (E3) program where students gain leadership experience, problem solving skills and community building skills through teamwork.  These cross-disciplinary teams utilize the Arboretum as an outdoor laboratory to gain real-world experience stewarding a collection while developing public facing events for visitors to better understand the many facets of the Arboretum.

Under direct supervision of the Academic & Environmental Education Program Coordinator, the E3 Internship Graduate Assistant will support the growing E3 internship program at the Arboretum.

Essential Duties:

  • Present at information sessions and makes social media posts to support the internship recruitment and outreach timeline.
  • Facilitate the management of teams in collaboration with the lead interns.
  • Aid in planning and promoting public facing events in collaboration with the lead interns.
  • Present and co-facilitates training and professional development opportunities for interns.
  • Provide input to Arboretum staff, lead interns and volunteer mentors to facilitate intern evaluations at the end of each semester.
  • Serve as the liaison between interns, their respective mentors and Arboretum staff.
  • Assist in reviewing internship application information within Titan Connection.
  • Maintain current information on Career Center programs, services, policies and events.
  • Refer interns to campus and community resources when assistance is needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled CSUF graduate student in good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Interest in academic success for college students
  • Understanding and sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic populations.
  • Must commit to the entire academic year (Fall 2026 & Spring 2027 semesters)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled graduate CSUF student in good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal) pursuing MA/MS programs in Counseling, Educational Leadership and Administration, Environmental Studies, Higher Education, Psychology, Social Work or a related degree are preferred.

COMPENSATION

All Graduate Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.  Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classification Range: $3,245 - $6,072 per month
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualification, not to exceed $3,500 per month
The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
