Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional to join our electrical characterization lab. As a Lab Engineer, you will oversee the daily operations, safety protocols, and tool uptime of a high-voltage laboratory. At the same time, you will perform various electrical measurements on cutting-edge silicon carbide semiconductor devices. You will help bridge the gap between physical lab operations and high-precision electrical engineering by commissioning, troubleshooting, and repairing test benches and related hardware. You will also support the development of specialized test benches for electrical testing of high-voltage semiconductors.

You will also be responsible for lab logistics, inventory management, and coordination of equipment calibration. This role offers the opportunity to work with an international team of engineers and technicians across multiple Bosch locations worldwide.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform electrical characterization measurements on silicon carbide semiconductor devices.
  • Act as the primary safety responsible for the high-voltage testing environment.
  • Support the bring-up, debugging, and troubleshooting of test infrastructure for high-voltage and high-current testing of semiconductor devices.
  • Manage the lab equipment calibration schedule to minimize downtime and ensure high accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team on the development and procurement of advanced testing solutions to support evolving lab requirements.
  • Perform soldering, PCB rework, repairs, and component replacement as needed.
  • Coordinate sample build-up logistics, including shipping, communication with external sample shops, and traceability.
  • Support the team's continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in an electronics or power engineering laboratory environment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
  • Experience in using common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, DMMs, function generators, etc.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics/datasheets.
  • Strong communication skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively in an international team environment.
  • Strong multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks independently.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of power semiconductor devices, such as MOSFETs, and related characterization methods.
  • Knowledge of PCB design or Altium Designer is desirable.
  • Experience using MATLAB and LabVIEW.
  • Knowledge of German is a plus.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $80.000-$100.000. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
