Job Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Relationship Management & Performance Reporting- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers regarding cross-dock operations, escalations, and service performance.
  • Lead Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
  • Communicate operational performance through key metrics including on-time dispatch, sorting accuracy, transit times, and damage rates.
  • Develop and present corrective action plans when performance targets are not achieved.
  • Third-Party Logistics (3PL) Management & Compliance
  • Establish, monitor, and enforce operational KPIs and service-level agreements (SLAs) with third-party logistics providers.
  • Conduct operational and financial audits to ensure compliance with company standards and customer requirements.
  • Serve as the final escalation point for operational failures, capacity constraints, and vendor disputes.
  • Drive continuous performance improvements across all partner locations.
  • Cross-Dock Operations Strategy & Network Optimization- Lead and optimize cross-dock operations across the United States and Mexico.
  • Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks to maximize throughput and minimize transit times.
  • Manage cross-border freight consolidation and deconsolidation activities to improve customs transit efficiency.
  • Develop capacity plans to support volume fluctuations and customer requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement & Systems Management- Establish and implement standardized operating procedures across internal facilities and third-party locations.
  • Oversee Warehouse Management System (WMS) transactions and inventory accuracy.
  • Lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives focused on operational efficiency, waste reduction, and damage prevention.
  • Utilize operational data and analytics to identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Financial Management & Leadership- Own and manage the cross-dock operations budget and financial performance.
  • Drive cost-per-unit reductions while maintaining customer service commitments.
  • Lead and develop regional management personnel supporting the North American facility network.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.

Work Environment
  • Fast-paced logistics and supply chain environment supporting automotive customers.
  • Frequent interaction with customers, internal leadership teams, warehouse operations, transportation providers, and third-party logistics partners.
  • Requires regular travel to cross-dock facilities throughout the United States and Mexico.
  • May require flexibility to support critical customer or operational issues outside standard business hours.
  • Primarily office-based with frequent visits to warehouse and cross-dock environments.

Days and Shift Information
  • Standard business hours; 8 hours per day
  • Must be available to support operations across multiple time zones in the United States and Mexico as business needs require.
  • International travel up to 40% to support facility audits, customer meetings, and operational reviews.

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related technical field required.

Experience
  • Minimum 8-10 years of progressive leadership experience in warehousing, logistics, distribution, or cross-dock operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience supporting automotive logistics, just-in-time (JIT) delivery environments, or sequenced parts operations.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience managing third-party logistics (3PL) providers and multi-site operational networks.
  • Demonstrated experience managing U.S.-Mexico cross-border logistics operations and customs-related processes.
  • Advanced proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Transportation Management Systems (TMS), and supply chain analytics platforms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex operational data and translate findings into actionable business strategies.
  • Professional working proficiency in English required; Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
