BOP Tech Wage: $23.15/H

BOP Tech 1 Wage: $25.36/H

BOP Tech 2 Wage: $28.67/H

BOP Tech 3 Wage: $33.08/H

Status: Full time, non-exempt

Reports to: BOP Manager

Travel Requirements: Field support as required

Schedule: Local Schedule, 5 days on / 2days off including occasional evenings, weekends, and on call duties

Work Location: This position is based out of the Zelienople, PA shop location. Reliable transportation is required.

Work Environment is non-traditional. Work will be performed in shop and occasional field environments, which may include exposure to varying weather conditions and operational settings.

BOP Technician

The BOP Technician is responsible for the preventative maintenance, service, repair, and pressure testing of blowout preventer (BOP) components and associated pressure control equipment. This role supports both shop operations and field service needs, ensuring equipment is maintained to meet operational and safety standards.

This position is best suited for individuals with 1โ€“5 years of mechanical or BOP-related experience, with opportunities ranging from entry-level to experienced technicians based on skillset. Ideal candidates are mechanically inclined, self-motivated, and capable of supporting inventory management and operational efficiency within the shop.

Duties

  • Service and maintain all blowout preventers, including ram and spherical types, and associated valves.
  • Perform and document pressure testing of BOP components following service.
  • Maintain and track inventory of consumable materials and replacement parts.
  • Organize and maintain the shop facility, testing station, and BOP storeroom.
  • Assist in developing and improving preventative maintenance programs.
  • Support training and development of BOP Technicians and trainees.
  • Assist field personnel with troubleshooting and resolving BOP-related issues.
  • Coordinate with the Quality Manager to ensure API and company compliance standards are met.
  • Perform field service work as required, including troubleshooting, repairs, and equipment installation (nipple up).
  • Operate and maintain hydraulic torque wrenches and related equipment.
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Skills amp; Abilities

Education: High School Diploma or GED (or equivalent work experience)

Experience:

1โ€“5 years of verifiable experience servicing BOPs or related mechanical/pressure control equipment preferred

Entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude may be considered

Other Requirements:

Must maintain a valid driverโ€™s license and meet company driving requirements

Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, physical, and drug screen

Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

Ability to work in both shop and field environments as needed
