Job description

Job purpose
A main booth cashier handles all entrance sales and they inform the guest about the park. It is their job to start the guests' day at the park with a smile and to make sure that the guests get into the park with all pertinent information. Cashiers make the first impression on the guests. They assist with other duties as well, during times of light entrance sales. Cashiers also work at the attraction photos booth locations inside the park. If you are good at math, can handle money well, and able to accept responsibility, this is the job for you!
Duties and responsibilities
Main Booth Duties
  • May require the use of a radio and/or phone.
  • Sales
    • Informing guests about the park.
    • Informing guests of their options for park admittance.
    • Selling one day passes.
    • Handling money, both cash and credit cards.
    • Using a computerized point-of-sale system.
    • Braceletting guests correctly.
  • Park information
    • General park information.
    • Ride/slide types, locations and information.
    • Ride/slide safety requirements.
    • Food stands and their locations.
    • Bathroom locations.
  • Cleaning
    • Cleaning the windows.
    • Sweeping the booth.
    • Taking out the booth trash.
    • Keeping the booth looking its best.

Gate Duties
  • Checking Bracelets
    • Verifying that only guests with a bracelet of the right color of the day come into the park.
  • Checking Coolers and bags
    • Inspecting that items that come into the park are allowed into the park.
    • Working with security to confiscate disallowed items.
  • Stroller, Wagon, Wheelchair, Scooter Rentals
    • Handling sales for the rentals.
    • Issuing and returning rentals.
    • Responsibly holding IDs as collateral.
  • Cleaning
    • Making sure the Gate always looks its best.
    • Cleansing the mobility devices.
    • Maintaining the flowers around the gate.
    • Cleaning Main Booth windows.
    • Sweeping the courtyard.
  • Guest Relations
    • Greeting the guests as they come in.
    • Offer them a Park map.
    • Ask them if they have any questions.
    • Check the heights of the guest when needed by the main booth cashiers.

Photo Booth Duties
  • Selling Photos
    • Using a cash register.
    • Handling money.
    • Using a credit card machine.
  • Printing Photos
    • Printing and preparing the photos for the guest.
    • Providing guest with great service.
  • Cleaning
    • Sweeping the floor of the photo booth.
    • Cleaning the counter.
    • Making sure the photo booth looks its best.

Comply with all policies and procedures of Funtown Splashtown USA
  • Follow all policies and procedures of the Department.
  • Maintain professional appearance following all uniform guidelines.
  • Attend all required department, interdepartmental, and park trainings.
  • You may be assigned to other duties as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Must be at least 14 years of age in accordance with State Law.
  • Charismatic and approachable.
  • Be confident talking to guests.
  • Cashier experience is not required and no other minimum qualifications necessary. Will train the right candidate.

Working conditions
  • Mainly works in air-conditioned environment.
  • Select tasks may require working in direct/indirect sunlight and outside in unpredictable Maine weather. We ask that you come prepared and dress appropriately.

Physical requirements
  • They must have the ability to carry up to 20 lbs.
  • Applicant should be able to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time.
