THE ROLE

Emo Nite is seeking a strategic Director of Business Development to identify and execute growth opportunities across the Emo Nite brand in new verticals. This role will assess new potential markets, uncover scalable revenue opportunities, and develop actionable strategies to expand the brand's current footprint.

The ideal candidate has deep experience in live events, nightlife, festivals, music marketing, or experiential branding, with a strong network across brands, agencies, venues, and entertainment professionals. This position is not remote and is hybrid in office 3 days per week and on site at various event locations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct a comprehensive evaluation of current business operations, revenue mix, audience demographics, brand equity, and competitive positioning

  • Identify underutilized assets (IP, audience data, brand partnerships, digital presence, community reach)

  • Develop a multi-year growth roadmap focused on scalable, diversified revenue streams

  • Identify and validate new markets, products, and business models beyond live events and sponsorships

  • Identify strategic partnerships that unlock new distribution channels, audiences, or revenue streams

  • Negotiate high-level partnership agreements

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, production, and finance teams to assess capabilities and resource needs

  • Build systems and processes to support scalable growth initiatives

  • Recommend organizational adjustments where needed to support expansion

  • Monitor cultural, entertainment, and consumer trends to identify early-stage opportunities

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and demanding timelines

  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours as needed to meet deadlines

  • Train and provide support in onboarding team members, clients, vendors and partners when needed

  • All other projects and initiatives as identified

QUALIFICATIONS

  • (Preferred) Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field

  • 9+ years of experience in sponsorship sales, partnerships, or brand marketing within the live events, entertainment, or music industries

  • 2+ years of management experience is required, including managing, developing and leading teams as well as optimizing and reorganizing teams to most effectively meet business needs

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment while maintaining composure and a positive attitude

  • Demonstrate extreme ownership and take accountability for personal and team actions

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and eager to take on new challenges

  • Critical thinker with a strong problem-solving mindset for real-time challenges

  • Resourceful with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Asana, Concur, Procurify, and Airtable

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Must be able to tolerate loud noise levels & busy environments

  • May work in drastic temperature climates on site at our events

  • Must be willing to frequently work and travel to work events during evening and weekend hours, as required, to meet deadlines and work events

Salary Pay Range: $100,000.00 - $140,000.00 USD
