Job description

Our client is a technology and consulting company recognized for building long-term partnerships and expanding a product-driven business line. They focus on application development, data visualization, and IT services, serving a diverse client base that includes major financial institutions, utility providers, and federal agencies.

In the role of Python Architect/Engineer, you will lead the development of a client reporting platform that integrates fixed income analytics, large-scale data, and proprietary research. The platform supports real-time portfolio management and risk assessment, emphasizing intuitive user experience and seamless integration across both internal and external systems.
This is a full-time opportunity. Candidates MUST be able to work directly on a W2 basis without sponsorship and cannot engage through another company or on a C2C basis.

THIS POSITION REQUIRES ONSITE WORK 5 DAYS A WEEK IN AUSTIN, TX

I AM NOT ABLE TO ENGAGE ON A C2C BASIS WITH OTHER COMPANIES, AND CANDIDATES MUST BE A GREEN CARD HOLDER OR US CITIZEN. NO SPONSORSHIP IS AVAILABLE

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and support reporting templates utilizing Python, pandas, and SQL.
Create and fine-tune SQL queries within PostgreSQL.
Build RESTful APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
Implement caching solutions with Redis.
Oversee CI/CD processes (e.g., GitHub Actions).
Leverage AWS tools (Lambda, S3) for workflow orchestration.
Diagnose and enhance cloud service performance.
Partner with cross-functional stakeholders.

Required Skills:
6+ years of hands-on experience with core Python development.
Strong proficiency in pandas for data processing.
Experience writing SQL queries, specifically in PostgreSQL.
Background in REST API development.
Familiarity with markup languages (HTML/XML).
Basic knowledge of caching concepts or Redis.
Experience using Git and CI/CD platforms.

Nice to Have:
Background in the financial sector, particularly fixed income or bonds, is a strong plus but not required.
Experience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, CloudWatch).
Exposure to CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
Familiarity with Docker.
Experience working with financial datasets or client reporting solutions.
