Description
1. Checks and prioritizes work orders on a daily basis and completes them within a reasonable length of time.
2. Communicates with Lead Nursing personnel in order to schedule repairs within patient units/rooms when necessary.
3. General Maintenance work may entail repairing or adding walls, floors, and ceilings, cutting keys or installing new cylinders, maintaining list of all doors with assigned key numbers, painting and maintaining records of what colors and finishes were used where, makes and/or installs signs in accordance to hospital signage policy, federally mandated ADA, state, and city codes.
4. Receives materials, verifying quality, quantity, pricing, and completed material safety data sheets (MSDS) are supplied. Signs packing slips and delivers them to assigned person by end of shift.
5. Submits recommendations for repairs/replacements to Foreman according to budget planning.
6. Serves as liaison with General Maintenance Foreman reporting pending repairs as necessary.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
8. Ensures all plant machinery is operating within design specs and takes appropriate action if not. Continuously monitors local indicators and building automation system to ensure proper operation of machinery and a stable supply of utilities.
9. Maintains assigned equipment in proper working order.
10. Maintains knowledge of machines and their operating characteristics; maintains knowledge required to make repairs
11. Possesses intimate knowledge of emergency response procedures for all plant equipment/utilities, and demonstrates the ability to carry out procedures.
12. Monitors systems, documents alarms/unusual events, repairs equipment and/or systems.
13. Performs assigned maintenance duties.
