Job description

Aviation Maintenance Technician and Inspector

Company:

The Boeing Company

Boeing is seeking an Aviation Maintenance Technician and Inspector, who holds an active secret or higher security clearance, to perform maintenance, preventative maintenance and alterations on production during and post flight test activities in support of our KC-46 Tanker in Tukwila, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, inspect, test, repair, service aircraft and engine systems to prepare aircraft for flight.

  • Perform Quality functions such as Customer and DCMA Coordination, Configuration Change Verification, Conformity Inspections, Airworthiness Inspections (including Pre-flight and Post-flights), Corrective Action and Investigations.

  • Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures.

  • Perform Aviation Maintenance Technician Inspector tasks in order to obtain and maintain knowledge, skills and required certifications.

  • Initiate and document any nonconforming materials, hardware, software, tools, parts, assemblies, or portions thereof, according to specifications, processes, and procedures.

  • Perform audit/surveillance of all manufacturing and quality assurance processes, according to specifications, processes, and procedures.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance. (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Minimum 3 years of aircraft maintenance experience with military, airline or certificated repair station background.

  • This position requires an individual when working at heights to utilize fall protection equipment that has weight limitations.

  • Must be able to work any shift and overtime as required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Prefer a valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate preferred. Please note your certificate number on your resume if you are certified.

  • Preferred experience in and/or education in Flight Controls, Avionics electronics/systems, and Analysis.

  • Prior military experience and working with military customers

Additional Information:

This is an hourly position governed by the International Association of Machinist (IAM-751) Collective Bargaining agreement.
