Structures Technician

Overview

Perform inspection, repair, fabrication, and installation of aircraft structural components in accordance with FAA regulations, maintenance manuals, and company procedures. Support commercial aircraft maintenance and modification programs in an MRO environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, repair, modify, and replace aircraft sheet metal structures, including skins, floor beams, and landing gear fittings.
  • Perform drilling, riveting, fabrication, assembly, and installation of structural components.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical manuals.
  • Fabricate and repair sheet metal parts using aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and composite materials.
  • Complete required maintenance documentation, work cards, component removal logs, and training records.
  • Safely operate sheet metal equipment, hand tools, lift equipment, rivet guns, drills, and forming machinery.
  • Follow FAA regulations, company procedures, and safety standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work area and support other maintenance activities as needed.
Requirements
  • 3+ years of aircraft structures, airframe, or sheet metal experience, preferably on commercial aircraft.
  • Hands-on experience with drilling, riveting, structural repairs, and modifications in an MRO environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical data.
  • Experience fabricating and installing aircraft structural components.
  • Boeing and Airbus experience preferred.
  • Proficient with common aircraft sheet metal tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license.
Work Environment
  • 1st Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with overtime available.
  • Hangar and shop environment supporting wide-body cargo conversion programs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Exposure to aircraft maintenance equipment, noise, temperature changes, and industrial work conditions.
  • Basic personal tools required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Phoenix, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $39.12 - $46.00/hr.
