POSITION SUMMARY

The P-3 Flight Engineer Instructor trains and evaluates students on Lockheed Martin P-3 aircraft systems, normal procedures, emergency procedures, crew coordination, risk management, and simulator operations. This role supports classroom and Operational Flight Simulator instruction in accordance with CBP/AMO policy, and P-3 training standards/Operators Manual.


DUTIES

·        Provide classroom instruction on P-3 fuel systems, air condition and pressurization, weight and balance, electrical, engine, hydraulics, propeller, aircraft performance, foul weather, Crew Resource Management (CRM), normal, and emergency procedures.

·        Conduct P-3 Operational Flight Simulator training and demonstrate normal and emergency procedures to AMO standards.

·        Create and maintain systems quizzes and systems/procedures exams along with administering, grading, filing, and uploading completed quizzes and exams to OpStar.

·        Evaluate P-3 flight engineer student competency, proficiency, risk management, and positional skills as defined by CBP/AMO policies.

·        Maintain proficiency in all P-3 OFT normal and emergency maneuvers and demonstrate procedures in accordance with the P-3 Operators Manual and AMO evaluation standards.

·        Develop realistic, experience-appropriate simulator scenarios for P-3 flight crews.

·        Create and update lesson plans, training materials, exams, simulator scenarios, grade sheets, and related P-3 instructional documentation.

·        Advise AMO on P-3 training materials, evaluation tools, and aircraft-specific instructional content.

·         

·        Maintain an expert level of knowledge of the CBP P-3 Operators Manual and all applicable CBP Air and Marine Operations flight publications.

·        Coordinate training calendars for Pilot in Command (PIC) / Second in Command (SIC) events and provide simulator user certification support.

·        Provide simulator training and proficiency certification for new users of the P-3 Simulators (including AMO personnel and other users of the AMO-owned simulators).

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

·        3-5 years as a P-3 Flight Engineer Instructor, with recent experience within 2 years of hire.

·        Comprehensive knowledge of P-3 Orion aircraft systems, avionics, navigation, engines, mission equipment, aircraft performance, safety protocols, and aviation regulations.

·        A strong understanding of aviation regulations and safety protocols is essential.

·         

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

·        Familiarity with flight simulator instruction, CBP P-3 Operators Manual, AMO flight publications, CRM, risk management, and OpSTAR record uploads.

·        FAA Flight Engineer Certificate or military equivalent preferred.
