Job description

Antenna & Propagation Design and Analysis Engineers (Levels 3, 4 & 5)

Company:

The Boeing Electrical Engineering Core Group is seeking a broad range of or experience levels, including Experienced, Expert, and Consultant Level Antenna & Propagation Design and Analysis Engineers.

The engineer will be responsible for providing RF system design analyses, including modeling and antenna coupling analysis multitude of air and space platforms recognized around the world. This position is for an experienced Electrical Engineering professional with deep knowledge and highly developed technical expertise.

This position provides an excellent opportunity to develop new solutions, to grow and mentor the next generation of engineers. In addition, this will guide the candidates' career towards the submittal of a candidacy for a position in the Boeing Technical Fellowship.

Primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Consider environmental effects such as electromagnetic pulse, lightning, space, and system to system radio frequency interaction to achieve a total system solution
  • Coordinate activities in RF Analysis with teammates, customers, and program personnel through the development and sustainment of various Boeing systems
  • Develop and mentor teammates through the development of a variety of RF Analysis efforts including RF COSITE, Antenna Coupling, and the production of Analysis Reports
  • Evaluate RF system design drawings and supplier qualification data to verify and correct system design for safe and successful operation
  • Support project management by tracking and reporting project status, by generating bids and requirements, and by providing work statement, budget, and schedule

Other job responsibilities may include:

  • Perform EMI/EMC, Nuclear Hardening, HIRF/Lightning, RF COSITE, and Antenna Coupling analyses and test
  • Review supplier and partner qualification data for Electromagnetic Compatibility
  • Develop and validate electromagnetic requirements for electrical\electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures
  • Apply conversion factors, correction factors, antenna factors, and other EMI/EMC techniques
  • Perform trade studies, modeling, simulation and other forms of analyses to predict component, interconnects, and system performance and to optimize design
  • Write appropriate sections of proposals to support development of new business
  • Work on a cross-functional support team and communicate clearly in various review boards both internally & externally

This position will be 100% onsite in Oklahoma City, OK.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus in Electrical, Mechanical or Aeronautical), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry Must have previous experience in the defense or aerospace industry
  • 5 or more years of related work experience
  • Must have previous experience with CST Studio Suite, ANSYS EMIT, FEKO, or similar RF modeling software
  • Must have previous experience with programming or scripting in a language such as Python, Perl, Visual Basic, Excel VBA, C/C++/C#, Java, or other
  • Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time as required

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Expert Level)
  • 12 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (Consultant Level)
  • An ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a Master's/PhD in electrical engineering
  • Active U.S. Security Clearance
  • Experience in antenna, radome, anechoic materials, and dielectric materials design
  • Experience interpreting and applying requirements (such as coverage, frequency, gain, and polarization)
  • Experience applying electromagnetic theory to develop new antenna and radome types and technologies
  • Experience with MATLAB, Mathematica, Mathcad, or similar mathematical modeling software
  • International Association for Radio, Telecommunications and Electromagnetics (iNARTE) Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer Certification
  • Familiarity with the Electromagnetic concepts (such as RF isolation, shielding, grounding, and filtering)
  • Experience with MIL-STD-461/464 and/or DO-160 EMI/EMC
  • General knowledge of the U.S. Spectrum and aircraft avionics
  • Familiarity with lab test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, etc.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility and also a possible Sign-On bonus if qualified.
