Job description

Primus Aerospace is a leading manufacturing partner to aerospace, defense, and spaceOEMs, Primes, and Tier I suppliers. We specialize in producing high-tolerance, complex geometry components machined from standard and exotic metals. Our team supports major aerospace manufacturers-including Boeing, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman-by delivering precision parts for mission-critical civilian and defense programs.

Shift Schedule:2nd Shift,12:00 PM - 8:30 PM or2:30 PM - 10:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional inspections using CMM equipment to verify conformance to customer drawings, models, and specifications
  • Operate CMMs and follow established inspection plans
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and GD&T requirements
  • Analyze CMM inspection results and prepare detailed inspection reports
  • Identify and document non-conforming materials or quality defects.
  • Perform First Article, In-Process, and Final Inspections
  • Maintain inspection recordsin accordance withquality procedures
  • Perform daily and weekly CMM machine checks and basic maintenance
  • Ensure all CMM reports and generated data are stored properly and backed up
  • Provide support to the Quality Control team across various inspection activities
  • Assistandprovidetechnical guidance to production, engineering, and quality personnel
  • Stay current with GD&T standards, inspection methods, and industry best practices
  • Support additional quality functions as assigned (Calibration, Audits, CAPA, RMAs, Customer Complaints, etc.)

Requirements

  • Must be eligible to obtain a Secret-level security clearance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience performing First Article Inspection (FAI) and associated documentation
  • Hands-on experience operating CMM equipment
  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Hands-on experienceoperatingand often programming CMMs using industry-standard software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso).
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic CMM faults
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience preferred
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
