Body Technician โ€“ Job DescriptionPosition Overview

The Body Technician is responsible for performing highquality collision repairs in accordance with manufacturer specifications and dealership standards. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering safe, accurate, and timely repairs that support exceptional customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities
  • Perform structural and nonstructural repairs on vehicles, including frame straightening, panel replacement, dent repair, welding, and body alignment.
  • Conduct thorough teardown and inspection of damaged vehicles to identify all necessary repairs.
  • Follow OEM repair procedures and utilize proper equipment, tools, and measuring systems.
  • Repair or replace damaged body components using approved methods and materials.
  • Work closely with estimators to review repair plans, identify supplemental damage, and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Fit, align, and adjust body panels, doors, bumpers, and related components to factory specifications.
  • Perform minor mechanical and electrical repairs related to collision damage.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and dealership safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with management, estimators, and other technicians to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Conduct quality checks throughout the repair process to ensure workmanship meets dealership and manufacturer expectations.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay current with evolving repair techniques, tools, and OEM requirements.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2โ€“3 years of professional collision repair experience preferred.
