Radiology Tech Assistant - Radiology - Full Time Days

Salary Range $16.25 - $25.00 Hourly Position Type Full Time (80 Hours) Category Imaging and Diagnostics

Description

Job Summary:

Transportation of patient to and from the radiology department utilizing proper body mechanics and ensuring patients safety in accordance with the hospital and department policies. Has knowledge of the needs of patients according to their age group and ability to modify care according to patient's age.

Communicating with patient in a courteous manner informing them of procedure to be performed and mode of transportation. Identification of self and department when transporting patient.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Selects appropriate mode of transportation through correlation of exam ordered, age of patient, and patients ability
  • Transports patient in a timely manner by wheelchair or stretcher
  • Demonstrates competence in lifting and moving patient, using proper body mechanics and proper moving equipment
  • Demonstrates competence in ability to transport patients with O2 and IV's maintaining appropriate administration
  • Collaborates with nursing unit to assure required documentation is complete and patient is signed in and out appropriately
  • Assists the Radiology Technologist as needed
Qualifications

Education Requirements and Other Requirements:

Educational level: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Certification/Licensure: BLS
