What is a body tech assistant?

Body Tech Assistants are entry-level professionals who support auto body technicians in repairing and restoring vehicles after collisions or damage. Their duties often include preparing vehicles for repair, assisting with body work, sanding, masking, cleaning, and maintaining tools and work areas. Body Tech Assistants help ensure that the repair process runs smoothly and efficiently, and they may gradually learn more advanced skills to progress in the auto body repair field.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a body tech assistant?

To thrive as a Body Tech Assistant, you need foundational knowledge of automotive repair, attention to detail, and typically a high school diploma or equivalent.
