Summary

The Body Shop Technician repairs and refinishes damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and spray painting equipment. Technicians will also do dealer prep work.

Responsibilities

  • Examine damaged vehicles and estimate repair costs.
  • Perform work as outlined per repair estimate with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory specifications
  • Use power tools, parts cleaning agents, oils and fluids as needed
  • Perform welding, soldering, body alignment and oxidizing operations
  • Paint surfaces after performing body repairs.
  • Diagnose, repair or replace defective mechanical parts
  • Document all work performed

Requirements

  • Dependable and ethical with a good safety record
  • High attention to detail
  • High school diploma or GED; Technical Institute/training preferred
  • Experienced in automotive frame repair a plus
  • I-Car certification preferred
  • Working knowledge of all aspects of repairs for damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles.
  • Valid driver's license.
